The Renter's Move-In Documentation Checklist

The single most protective thing you can do when you move in is photograph everything before you unpack. This room-by-room checklist tells you exactly what to capture — and why it matters at move-out.

Why this checklist exists

Most security deposit disputes aren't about actual damage — they're about proof. Without timestamped photos, it's your word against your landlord's. Ten minutes of documentation on move-in day can save you hundreds at move-out.
